Tonight....as I finished reading some of the book, "Charlotte's Web" to Jaden and Jenna...again Jaden said that she couldn't go to sleep because she was hungry.  Jenna was zonked, so I said let's go down stairs and get a snack to put you to sleep.
Greg was about to start his tivo'd American Idol.  Jaden was excited to see some of that.  It was amazing to watch this little girl...on her own get all the fixings for some good ol' cinnamon toast.  She toast'd the bread (two pieces), buttered it, sprinkled the cinnamon/sugar, then had to shake off and extra sugar....carefully cleaned up the dirty buttered knife, put away sugar, and carried her plate over to the table to sit and enjoy.  What a big girl!
Speaking of BIG....Greg measured Jaden the other day for our health insurance and she is the average size of a 9 year old.  I can't believe that my baby, barely 7, and a giant.  Her feet are big, she has these amazingly long gangly arms, and big hands.  Greg and I are thinking Olympics..swimming, but she says Volleyball in the sand.  We'll see.
I sent her up to bed while I finished cleaning up my mess in the kitchen and then went to tuck her in.  Seven years of kids and I haven't missed a night that they slept under the same roof as I and not looked in on them.  I love seeing my girls asleep.  Anyways as I went to Jaden's bed, she asked me to "lay down with her like I used to".  My heart melted.  I hopped in be with her and snuggled my little girl, tickling her arm softly and running her hair thru my fingers.  I told her that I was going to miss her when she grew up.
